Since 2008, Taicang has been holding "Taicang Day" in Germany every year. The annual Sino-German exchange event has become a mechanism and a platform for economic, trade and humanistic exchanges between China and Germany. This year is the third time "Taicang Day" to come to Munich after 2009 and 2015.
Mr. Zhai Qian, minister of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Germany and Dr. Markus Wittmann, Director General of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economics, attended the event and delivered speeches. More than 50 famous companies such as Munich Airport Group, Lechino and Rohde, and more than 50 "invisible champion" companies such as MiTek, ROHRER and Schwegler participated in this event. More than 100 guests from Munich Business School, Akum, Andrea and other universities, media, environmental protection, cultural exchange and many other fields attended the event. Mr. Wang Xiangyuan, Secretary of Taicang Municipal Committee, delivered a video speech.

On the site of the "Suzhou-Germany Open Innovation Cooperation Exchange Meeting and 14th Taicang Day", the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce promoted the advantages of Suzhou in terms of location, industrial system, and business environment. Taicang High-Tech Zone promoted the achievements of 30 years of Sino-German cooperation, the development of German enterprises in Taicang and the industrial ecology, and signed up industrial projects such as the famous German coffee brand, laser emitter, and big health management, etc. The Berlin Innovation Center, Düsseldorf Innovation Center, and Aachen Innovation Center were inaugurated at the event. In the future, Taicang will fully integrate German innovation resources, strengthen the docking cooperation in industry, science and technology, culture and sports, etc., and cast a model of Sino-German cooperation.
The conference focused on "German Companies in Taicang - Experience and History", "Towards China? Towards the World? German SMEs in an exciting era", German enterprises in Taicang, German companies intending to invest and government officials shared their experiences in the round table.
